Llanerch Vineyard

Nestled in rolling hills just outside of Cardiff, Llanerch has been actively producing wines since 1986. With an on site restaurant and hotel, they are well positioned to provide a comprehensive selection of wines in a gorgeous setting, with excellent food on hand.

Tours run from April till October, run for around an hour and is very reasonably priced at £12 per person, including three still wines. Be sure to take your wellies though, as the tour is “off-road” and can get a little muddy! If there’s more than 20 of you, private tours and tastings are available.

Glyndwr Vineyard

Just up the road from Llanerch is Glyndwr, operating tours all times of the year.

Colder months sees a retreat to a warm candle lit barn to begin the tour with a glass of mulled wine.
In warmer months, tours are kicked off with a glass of sparkling and a personal tour of the vineyard lasts around 2 hours. Once back at the barn, a full country platter is provided accompanied by more wine!

The hidden bonus? Llamas are residents on site and special Llama tours can be arranged for £22.

Pant Du

For those located in the more dramatic North of Wales, Pant Du offers the perfect selection of wine and ciders on their group tours. Both an orchard and a vineyard, Pant Du provides a comprehensive tour in the Nantelle valley. A tour includes tasting, a meal, along with coffee (or tea) over a detailed presentation.

Ancre Hill

With a rapid rise to success, Ancre Hill saw it’s first vintage in 2008. Having won awards since then, it has become a local success story with a well known and far reaching reputation.

Tours are operated twice daily, with tastings and lunch entirely optional but highly recommended. A large selection of wine is available from the cellar door, but the main attraction is the rolling scenery and stone buildings that Ancre Hill resides in.
